Just an underdog story waiting to happen.

I noticed this lack of inclusion from a young age, questioning why I wasn’t being represented on TV and magazines. But I thought that I could never have a hand in changing the status quo.

Fast forward to high school where I thought I could achieve my goal if I became a lawyer. Yes, a lawyer. In my defense, my family only knew of two successful outcomes for first generation children – doctor or lawyer. As the sight of blood makes me squeamish — lawyer it was. Due to my love of plan Bs, and the uncertainty of if I truly wanted to be a lawyer, I took a tech class called Digital Media Technology and my life changed forever.

I fell in love. Not with a high school sweetheart but with media design. Television, radio, print, social media — everything I learned about this world made me want to be a part of it. I realized this was my future. I was introduced to the world of copywriting and history was in the making.

Copywriting was the perfect path since it combined all the skills I excelled at. Writing, exercising creativity, problem solving, working with people and most importantly it gave me the opportunity  to help represent undervalued groups in everyday media. So I continue my journey to influence media’s inclusivity.

As a storyteller to many brands, I show companies how to reach people like me and more. While my path took many turns. I cherish these opportunities that allow me to flex my creative outlet and am so honored to have this be my career.
